Hermès 175th Anniversary

Celebrating its 175th anniversary this year, Hermès, the french powerhouse that is still owned and controlled by its founder's family has kept throughout the decades its true essence which consists essentialy of tradition, craftsmanship and scarcity. Hence, still nowadays, all handbags and saddles are hand-stiched from start-to-finish by one expert artisan in their workshop in Pantin, on the outskirts of Paris. Of course, to be able to deliver such world-renowed products, they have to supply with the very best tanners in France explaining the great variety of leather present in their luxurious creations. Ostrich and other exotic skins like crocodile are also used and cut to exacting standards where it is also possible to create a special order ranging from an apple carrier to a case for an elephant gun!

Fashion wise, it is certainly the handbags that have catapulted the brand into its fashion household status even though a carré Hermès is highly recognizable and a sound investment in a man or woman's closet. As a matter of fact, the Kelly and the Birkin have way surpassed It Bag status and season after season continue to be on top of Stylistas wish lists all over the world.  The understated sense of chicness and luxe that oozes from an Hermès handbag is much likely attributed to the traditional craftsmanship perpetuated by the French house noticeably reflected by the astonishing level of details each item present (one craftsman makes no more than two handbags each week). Jewelry wise, the high-quality of their craftsmanship can also be decline in multiple accessories that are sure to pleased our StylX.net readers as mixing high-end accessories with lower selections is a trend that is certainly here to stay! We highly recommend browsing our many collections in order to find the perfect layering!
