Stylish Iron Lady

Yesterday, the late former Prime Minister of England, baronness Margaret Thatcher, passed away at age 87 and whether you were fond or not of her controversial policies, we have to recognize the socio-economic turnover she was responsible for and her incredible determination. Here, at StylX.net, we not only salute her love, dedication and servicing of her beloved nation but also her inimitable style that she carried until the end of her third mandate. As a matter of fact, Iron Lady was not flashy but rather appropriate having understood and assimilated the fact that she had to be well-dressed to represent her country and that it is a crucial part of her job as prime minister.
First and foremost, her signature style consists essentially of her natural pearls (that she continued to wear even though strongly advised not to), monochromatic skirt suits, plain or patterned silk blouses (from Mark & Spencer) with floppy long ties : ‘’I often wear bows, they are rather softening, they are rather pretty’’. Moreover, her favorite accessory must have been her Asprey black patent leather handbag which was as famous as her imppeccable brushing another important matter to her constant and strong look and symbol of her intransigeance and tenacity especially because carried at several key state meetings. Most of the time she would favor blue shades but for special occasions it was not uncommon to see her in bright hues. Another brand that she would always go to is without a doubt Aquascutum, a British heritage family label obviously because of the ethos of the company.

In short, we will be mourning her death and always remember to stay true to your inner style and as she was quoted saying for decades : only wear clothes that you feel comfortable in!

May you rest in peace
