Every year since 1949, the fabulous and luxurious french city of Cannes welcomes the most influential and talked-about film festival in the world. The venue is famous for its "montée des marches", which is the moment when stars of the movie industry climb the few red steps that lead to the theatre. Often referred to as "Promenade de la Croisette", the waterfront avenue adorned with palm trees is the perfect location to see and be seen by international paparazzis who gather in the hopes of snapping away these film icons. This year the jury panel in charge of awarding the "Palme d'Or" and the jury prize includes Oscars rivals Ang Lee and Steven Spielberg, Nicole Kidman, Lynne Ramsay, Christoph Waltz, Cristian Mungiu, Naomi Kawase, Daneil Auteuil and Vidya Balan. On a more fashionable note, we, at Stylx.net like us should be paying attention to the photocall held in the afternoon under a usually radiant sun where these craftmen and women answer questions for the press and to the "montée des marches" held in the evening where they will be showing their work in the "Palais des Festivals et des Congrès". Let it be known that most of the times movies will be screen in premiere so that it gives an exclusive advantage for attendees of the festival.
