Christian Louboutin Red Soles Exhibition

This year marks the 21st anniversary of Christian Louboutin first red sole shoe, the Pensée, which still is his most enduring creation. By snatching his then assistant nail polish to paint the dramatic black sole into Pantone-18 Chinese Red, he created a trademark that would later be the object of a lawsuit with YSL (protection for all red soles unless another brand commercializes a shoe that is mostly red). Since this particular model, all of his pieces are emblazoned with his signature red lacquer highly recognizable and coveted. We, at StylX.net, would recommend that before going out with those brand new shoes go to your cobbler and add another layer of this iconic shade of red (we say have a pair of Louboutin Re-Red).

Lucky for us, Christian Louboutin, the exhibition curated by the designer and London's Design Museum, is being showcased at the Toronto's Design Exchange celebrating 21 years in the industry with over 200 designs, sketches and a recreation of the french designer's Paris atelier. Louboutin has been quoted talking about the retrospective held until September 15 : "The shapes have changed, the height has been changing, but overall I'm quite consistent with what I love."

In short, no wonder why so many StylXtas fancy Louboutins, the intricate designs and the comfortability of each pair is absolutely exquisite at the same time as being poetic and playful. We have to agree with Jennifer Lopez when she sings in her song Louboutins; "I'm throwing on my Louboutins, watch these Red bottoms". One who could definitely agree is certainly writer Danielle Steel who reportedly owns more than 6,000 pairs and that was in 2010 so can you imagine her shoe closet today? Jealousy ensues ...! Please post your pair of Louboutins in our photo booth area to share your love!
